Am I Google-able?

That is the question you have to ask yourself. To find out, go ahead and Google your name.

I know some individuals do not want to be searchable. Alright, let's respect that privacy. But being Google-able doesn't mean you lose that privacy anyway.

For professionals, entrepreneurs, freelancers and business owners, it is important that they leave  "social media footprint". By leveraging technology, we increase the possibility of expanding our market or increase our clientele.  This is information age, and the internet has a pivotal role in sharing information across the globe.

To get started in having an online presence,

First, get a good picture of yourself. It should be amiable and professional of course.

Second, sign up a Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn account. LinkedIn, however, is said to be more important.

According to Patrice Rutledge, an author of Using LinkedIn, LinkedIn is where you should be if you are looking for anything to do in the professional world. The site is the ultimate's buyers market.

To market yourself in Facebook, you have to consider using appropriate keywords that people would use to search. Photos and online videos are also great ways to promote your services or products.

With Twitter, you can send Tweets that are relevant to the services or products you offer. It is also part of building your brand. The new Twitter's photo sharing feature would be a great tool to help business owners in promoting their businesses.

Third, create a website to create a profile of yourself, your services or your business. A website adds credibility and branding.
